Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at Western Sydney University studies how language works — from its structure and sound to its social, cultural, and psychological significance — while enhancing skills in analysis, communication, and cross-cultural understanding. Students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical application through research projects, field studies, and internship opportunities with media, education, and community organisations. Graduates are prepared for careers in linguistics research, language education, communication, translation, journalism, and public policy, or for further studies in applied linguistics, language teaching, or international relations.
