Western Sydney University is a publicly funded research university established in 1989 under the University of Western Sydney Act 1988 of the Government of New South Wales. It is a publicly funded university and one of Australia's principal higher education providers. The main campuses span the Greater Western Sydney region in Sydney and are located in premium suburbs such as Bankstown, Blacktown, Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Parramatta, and Penrith.
