Program Description
A Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Linguistics is a joint honors degree that combines an in-depth, scientific understanding of how language works with advanced-level proficiency in the Spanish language. The course studies the fundamental principles of linguistics—like phonetics, syntax, and semantics—while also providing a detailed exploration of the vibrant cultures, histories, and literatures of the Spanish-speaking world. The degree prepares graduates for a wide range of global careers in translation, language teaching, speech technology, and research, where an understanding of both a specific language and the general principles of language is a valuable asset.
